The Flourishing Communities Foundation is a testament to the enduring spirit of a family deeply connected to the rural village of Sidi Bou Othmane, Morocco.
The Flourishing Communities Foundation was born from a profound dedication to narrow the educational and technological gaps prevalent in the rural village of Sidi Bou Othmane, Morocco. Influenced by the deep-rooted commitment of Omar, Ines, Rayan, and Lucas embarked on a mission to address the challenges they witnessed firsthand.
The seeds of our foundation were sown during a transformative visit to Sidi Bou Othmane, Morocco. Witnessing firsthand the challenges faced by the community, our co-founders, Rayan and Lucas, were impassioned to create lasting change. This vision crystallized into a mission to establish educational hubs, starting with a groundbreaking solar-powered computer lab at Lamhazil Elementary School.

- Retired math professor teacher who was born and raised in Sidi Bou Othmane.
- Ines and Rayan’s grandfather.
- Local contact in Sidi Bou Othmane. Serves as project advisor and coordinator.
Rayan
- High school student in his Senior year living in Chicago, Illinois and attending Niles West High School.
- Co-founder of the solar computer lab project. Serves as project lead.
Lucas
- High school student in his Senior year living in Chicago, Illinois attending the Latin School.
